REMINDER FROM THE KENSINGTON POLICE REGARDING SAETY OF YOUR HOME:

If your home is going to be vacant, and you have an alarm we suggest that it be turned on, particularly when leaving your house vacant for a couple of hours, even if you are simply going to the park or pool. The evening hours are the time of day that most break-ins occur. We suggest setting automatic lights to come on inside the home after dark, as well as motion detection lights outside of the home. Please notify us at the Police Department non-emergency line at 482-2853, whenever your home is going to be vacant for an extended period of time.

Notify the Police Department via the emergency phone number at 482-0480 should you see or hear anything or anyone of a suspicious nature. Do not leave messages on the nonemergency line for this type of call. If you feel uneasy about something, we want to know immediately, so that we can investigate it right away.

While we continue to focus our high visibility patrol of the Village during prime hours for burglary activity, you may notice that we will be using our emergency lights when responding to routine calls. This is not meant to alarm you, but as an effort to become an even more visible presence in the Village. We will also be strictly enforcing parking regulations, particularly overnight parking regulations, as well as performing increased car stops throughout the Village.  We ask that you assist us in our efforts by reporting to us anything of a suspicious nature immediately.
